SP talks to Dr. Eboni Marshall Turman
Every now and then, we encounter women who inspire us with their stories, their witness, and their humility. When I first encountered Dr. Eboni Marshall Turman, I had an opportunity to bear witness to her voice as a scholar. In my more recent conversations, I have learned that behind her fierce voice is an enduring commitment to saying “yes” to the voice and the will of God in her life. However, what has been most moving about our exchange has been her humility and the openness of her heart towards young Black women in ministry and to the work of Shepreaches Magazine.
In this second installation of Shepreaches Conversations, I was blessed to speak with Dr. Eboni. She is the current Visiting Professor of Christian Social Ethics at Hood Theological Seminary, in Salisbury, North Carolina. She is a powerful embodiment of intersectionality, as she is a preacher, a scholar, an activist, a wife and a seminary professor. Her personal narratives of “being called from birth” and living out her calling in multiple contexts are inspiring and full of wisdom. You will hear all of this and more in this edition.
I encourage you to learn more about Dr. Eboni and her work by visiting her website, www.marshallturman.com, where you will find her amazing bio, videos, blog. You will even find her preaching and teaching itinerary – she may be in your area soon! Lastly, you can follow her on Twitter @ebonithoughts.
We pray that you will enjoy this conversation with Dr. Eboni Marshall Turman!
